“This is my second season with Thomas cook, and I’m currently working in Fuerteventura. I love my job because I get to meet new and fantastic people all the time. The sun’s always shining as well, so there is plenty to smile about. And, even though the hours are very long, the fact that you’re having fun all day it makes it all worth while.
In the daytime we run a variety of activities, including French Boules, Fun Fitness and volley ball. But the event I love the most is football. Just imagine, doing your favourite sport as part of your job.
At the end of the day we all go back to our apartments to prepare for a fun-packed evening, which starts around 7pm, when we make sure we’ve everything ready, including show costumes and equipment. Then the night really gets underway, with Dizzy and Shades Super Shake Down for children. It’s a great start to the night, and great to see how much everyone enjoys the dancing and playing games.
I love to sing and dance on stage, but that’s just a small part of what I do as an Entertainer. I also love hosting our game show, Battle of the Sexes. It’s always a real buzz, especially when you have lots of people on the stage. It’s just so exhilarating.
My advice for anyone wanting to do this job? Well, if you’ve a passion for performing, like to help make people’s holidays and don’t mind long hours, it really is the job for you. If you’re up for the challenge, I hope to see you next summer.”
